The film features Vijay Sethupathi and Reemma Sen in the leading roles, with Kalabhavan Mani, Sayaji Shinde, Ponvannan, Deepak and Suhasini playing supporting roles. Featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the film began production in January 2019 and released on 1 September that year.
Plot
The film begins with Preethi (Reemma Sen) narrating how the first five years of her life are all memories to her.
Preethi is the daughter of a minister, Subbaraman. She used to live with her father and mother in a hotel along with her elder sister, Jeevitha (Kuluvadivoo Ramdoss) and her younger brother, Jeevan (Vishnu), but they move to their own house after Subbaraman dies. Three years later, Preethi and Jeevitha get married.
Six years pass. Preethi, along with her husband Jeevitha and her siblings Jeevan, will be going to attend their father's cremation. Their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Preethi comes to know that her sister-in-law and her brother, Jeevan are involved in one murder case in the past, in which she was the witness. She advises Jeevitha and Jeevan not to talk about it in public, and she tells them that their mother died because she couldn't take care of them. Jeevitha rejects her, Jeevan remains silent.
Later, after Jeevitha and Jeevan leave for their house, Jeevan, while coming back to the car and inside his car, is shot dead by the antagonist. His body is thrown in a pit, while the antagonist drives away. Preethi notices that he was wearing a shirt with 'Guru' written on it. The next day, Preethi calls Jeevitha and tells her that Jeevan was killed by a person who was wearing a shirt with 'Guru' written on it.
Preethi and Jeevitha rush to the police, but the police tells them that there is no record of Jeevan in the police, and thus, cannot help them. They reach home with their car. The next morning, Preethi and Jeevitha call the police.
